Case 0 - Faversham's Valise - The Corbitt Letter

Almost protruding from the outside pocket of Faversham's valise is an unopened letter with a recent postmark. It is addressed to Dr Faversham with a return address from a real estate agency in King Street.

To Dr Faversham,

It is not without consternation that I reach out to you. For some time, I have been the owner of the handsome dwelling at 17 Newcomen Street. For many years this house has been rented without incident until recently. Due to events in the past 6 months, entirely unconnected to the repair of the dwelling or its careful management on my part, I have become unable to find tenants. In fact, the house has developed a most unwarranted reputation in the immediate area. It is exactly this that I wish you to examine and dispel - with my preference for you to apply the utmost haste.

Due to the increasing interest caused by this property, I feel compelled to contact someone of your particular 'leanings' but wish to dispense with this matter utilising utmost discretion. Of course, I would reimburse you for your efforts and expenses in this matter.

Please call to make an appointment and I will be happy to receive you at my place of work.

Yours in earnest,

Arthur Corbitt
